iPhone 15 Pro Series: From Titanium Frame To USB Type

As we head closer to the launch of the iPhone 15 series in India, leaks and rumours are giving us precious details about the upcoming smartphones. According to Mark Gurman, a trusted name for Apple-related leaks, Apple is working on trimming down the bezels of the 'Pro' models.

While the era of minimal bezels on an iPhone started with the iPhone X, the new technology - low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO) will further trim down the bezels from 2.2mm to 1.5mm. This technology helped tone down the bezels of the Apple Watch and may also sneak into the upcoming iPads, according to the Bloomberg Correspondent.

Besides the Dynamic Island upgrade, the vanilla and 'Plus' variants will reportedly ship with an A16 chip and a USB Type-C port as a replacement to the Lightning connector. The 'Pro' iteration may ship with a 3nm chip, which will be faster than its predecessor.

Apple iPhone 15 'Pro' models will likely have a titanium frame as an alternative to the shiny stainless steel. The 15 Pro and Pro Max will likely carry forward the frosted back design with a slightly curved frame. Plus, the variants will be "easier to repair", noted Gurman.

The rear cameras will get upgraded sensors, and the 'Pro Max' is tipped to get "wider zoom" capabilities optically. Plus, reports in the past have claimed that all the phones in the upcoming lineup will have a 48MP primary lens.

The tech giant reportedly planned to bring "touch-sensitive buttons" that may deliver haptic feedback while toggling. But this was cancelled, considering several challenges that ship with construction. However, the mute switch is set to retire to give room to the Action button.

Gurman also adds that the tech giant could increase the prices of all models outside the United States. This will primarily be because of the titanium build and upgraded cameras.
